What a weekend in Baltimore!!
After getting rained out on Friday, The Yankees came and went to work with the lumber on Saturday to finally give CC his first victory with a 15 to 3 score over The Baltimore Orioles. They hit a total of 5 home runs including a grand slam from A-Rod number 22 that now puts him ahead of Manny Ramirez and just one behind of the great Lou Gehrig of the all time list. There was a absolute display of power Saturday for the Yankees and that makes them really dangerous this season. As for today They got ahead quickly in the game again thanks to Granderson's home run in the first inning 2-0. They maintained a lead late into the game of 3-0 and even though towards the end of the game when you are ahead and super Mo is on the mount that you can pretty much say and feel this game is in the bag. From time to time it will happen and we all will be reminded that super Mo is also human and he will give up some runs. Well that's what happened today and Mariano blew a save situation. Still the Yanks were able to come on top at the end. Thanks to Cano they were able to capture that victory and sweep the short two game series against the O's. What a weekend, very eventful but most importantly is that the Yankees won.

As Hughes troubles continue, The Yankees reach first place
On a third consecutive start Phil Hughes struggles continue lacking velocity and being ineffective on the mount to be able to have any resemblance to what it was a great season for him last year. Nonetheless the Yankees offence was able to bail him out of another bad outing and have the team come on top by obtaining their first walk off win of the season over the Baltimore Orioles. Which now that puts the Yankees on first place of the AL East division after loosing their first series to their rivals Red Sox over the weekend. With a record of 7-4 now they have a one game lead over the second place Orioles and a five games lead over the last place Boston Red Sox. Now it will be up to Ivan Nova to keep the ball rolling and continue to another win. CC has not got a win yet even though he has pitched well enough to have at least two wins so far, but that's the game of baseball. Despite the struggles that Hughes is going through and Sebathia not being able to record his first win yet, the team has reach first place on the division. Let see how they take it to the next level once they start going full force.

It's Time to give CC his first win
After having two no decisions on his first two starts I think CC is ready for his first win of the season, specially against the rivals Boston Red Sox. Now that the series is even to a game a piece. Let's go and take it tomorrow with our ace on the mount. The Red Sox were able to take their season home opener yesterday from the Yankees but today they went right back to the loosing column. So let's not give them any opportunities tomorrow and keep them down. I am sorry Boston but no mercy. The Yankees had a good display of power today with four homers, nine runs and a total of thirteen hits to get their victory backing up our rookie pitcher Ivan Nova. Let's continue that trend and have some more Yankee fireworks at Fenway tomorrow to finish up a good weekend capturing their third consecutive series. So in order to do that let's get CC his first win of the season.

Back on Track
After a forced day off due to mother nature and a lost game to The Twins on Tuesday the Yankees were able to put today's game on the winning column. Oh by the way this happens to be AJ Burnetts' second win of the season on two starts and after the results he had last year, we can say that he is on the right track to a good year. After six games the Yankees record is 4-2 and most importantly is that they had won their first two series. Now is time to hit the road and go visit the forever rivals Red Sox that so far they are having their struggles starting the season with a record of 0-6. That has to be a big disappointment in Boston, and even though some people may say that regardless of the record the Red Sox are still a very talented team, which is true, but it has to be in their heads and be a big blow on their moral to look at the record and see that big 0 in front of it. So, I know that they are going to win sooner or later but let's not let it happen until my Yanks are out town.

First lost, minus well also get it out the way.
Phil Hughes didn't come out as strong as he would have expected, his velocity was not all there and bottom line he didn't quite had it today. So, he got knocked around a little bit.
Hughes gave up five runs in four innings and obviously it was very frustrating for him having that type of performance. All he can do now it's put it behind him and move forward, get ready for the next start.
Now that the first series is out the way on which The Yankees got two out three, lets look forward to next week and get ready to face The Twins and The Red Sox. This should be a good interesting week facing two really good teams. Even though is early in the season it is important to start racking up those wins now so you don't stress later in August and September. Well tomorrow we'll get to see Nova in action on his first outing of the year. It should be a good one. We know that they can't win every game so there got be a lost from time to time and today I guess it was one of those times.

AJ Did good for a sick man.
Well another win is on the books, but more importantly we were able to see AJ Burnett perform pretty decent for someone not being 100% healthy. Even though he is fighting sinus and throat infections he was still able to go through five innings and only allowed three runs. Under those circumstances we can say it was a good outing. Imagine how much more he can give the Yankees being 100% healthy. Now we just need to keep the line moving. We already got two wins out CC and AJ now is PH turns I mean Phil Hughes turns to keep it going, get a great performance and then let see what we get out Ivan Nova and Freddy Garcia. On the other hand in two games The Boston Red Sox had not recorded a win yet. I know is only the first two games of the season, but again I just want to remind those geniuses baseball analysts about what team will really be the one to beat. And I'll say again "The New York Yankees". There you have it folks, stay tuned for more win updates from the Bronx Bombers.
